Virus Hysteria
In the past week two events were kind of hard to not pay attention to. First, undoubtedly, is the "Wuhan" virus. Second is the Tezor hack. No comparison, of course!
Extract (wiki): "Coronaviruses were discovered in the 1960s; the earliest ones ... were infectious bronchitis virus in chickens and two viruses from the nasal cavities of human patients with the common cold that were subsequently named human coronavirus 229E and human coronavirus OC43."
I'm not a virologist and I do not even have any official education and / or training in biology. Nonetheless, it's difficult not to react to all those FUD, which mass medias (including almost all known youtube crypto-channels) have been actively dissipating during the past week.
I've assumed that after 2 years of crazy ups-and-downs our small DLT community shall be matured enough and deeply allergic even to the notion of brainlessly joining masses in their fullish errands :) Alas, here we are on a verge of lining up to buy NBC suits.
Extract (wiki): " ... The Wuhan strain has been identified as a new strain of Betacoronavirus from group 2B with an ~70% genetic similarity to the SARS-CoV."
Extract (wiki): " ... Coronaviruses are believed to cause a significant percentage of all common colds in human adults and children."
Anyway, I'm not here to analyze or, heaven forbid, to advise on 2019-nCoV - just "to comment on comments". IMHO (and very cautiously and generally speaking) our "decentralized" community hasn't yet made us immune neither to virus strain nor to mass hysteria seeds.
